The i-7188XG series is a palm-size ISaGRAF PAC and includes ISaGRAF SoftLogic. It has 2 serial ports (COM1:RS232/RS485 & COM2:RS485). The user can choose I/O expansion board, X-board, to expand the I/Os or memories of i-7188XG.
The i-7188XG supports Modbus serial protocol, Modbus master protocol, Fbus:RS485, remote I/O, SMS: Short Message Service, modem link, MMICON / LCD and user defined protocol. |

Creating a modbus Link with the i-7188XG |
The i-7188XG controller can be a Modbus "Slave" and/or a Modbus "Master" controller depending on the application. As a Modbus slave, you can use COM1 (RS232/RS485) of the i-7188XG controller to link to PCs or other HMI products. As a Modbus master, you can use COM2 (RS485) to talk to other PLCs or devices which support Modbus protocol. | |

Each i-7188XG can use its other RS-485 port (COM2) to talk to each other via the Fbus communication mechanism. Fbus can be used to broadcast data to each controller or each controller can request to send or receive data from any other controller on the same Fbus network. | |

The Modem_Link is an software designed by ICP DAS, which need to be installed into the ISaGRAF software in your PC. The Modem_Link provide you an easy way to remotely download your ISaGRAF program to the i-7188XG though COM4 of X504 via a general modem. And also you can monitor every I/O, data and if the program allows, you can control it via the Modem. | |
